Michael Gier (Guy-Er) is an actor, director, and producer. As a musical theater Equity performer, Michael starred in Broadway shows all over the country. As a SAG/AFTRA actor, Michael has dozens of Film and Television credits.    

Career highlights include singing as a soloist on The Lawrence Welk Show in Branson, MO with the original Lawrence Welk TV stars and a 20-piece orchestra; singing live on the national broadcast of the Jerry Lewis Stars Across America Muscular Dystrophy Telethon; tap dancing with Gregory Hines in the feature film Tap; and working with Academy Award-winner Spike Jonze in the FatBoy Slim music video Praise You. Because of the video’s worldwide success, Michael also performed live at the MTV Music Video Awards and the video won three of the four awards they were nominated for.    

In 2009, Michael moved from in front of the camera to also working behind the camera. As a producer and director, Michael owns and runs his production company Gier Productions, LLC. He has produced and directed hundreds of TV commercials, corporate videos, short films, feature films, and documentaries.    

Michael’s most recent project, which he produced and directed, is the powerful documentary film Wounded Heroes, which spotlights the crisis veterans are facing with ineffective treatments for PTS (post-traumatic stress), and as a result, the shocking number of suicides in the military. Through Michael's dedication and research, Wounded Heroes reveals effective alternative therapies that are available now to help veterans heal. Following is a synopsis of this outstanding film: Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) among our veterans is a serious problem with over 20 veterans a day taking their lives by suicide. Most are given prescription drugs but as many veterans have said, medication is just a band-aid over a wound that will never heal. Our veterans deserve more than just a band-aid and so director/producer Michael Gier went on a mission and found successful treatments and programs that give veterans their lives back, healing the wounds of PTS. This documentary film features life changing options that give our veterans and anyone battling PTS HOPE; literally saving lives.
